It is described an energy handling system (600 700 800) comprising an energy storage device (100 200 300 500) which comprises a Phase Change Material (115) for absorbing and temporarily storing thermal energy which has been provided by an energy source (170 670) and a heat extraction element (140) for extracting thermal energy from the Phase Change Material (115). The energy handling system (600 700 800) further comprises an energy conversion device (180 580 582) which is operatively connected to the heat extraction element (140) and which is capable of converting thermal energy into electric energy.
