MANUFACTURE OF PB ALLOY PLATE HAVING STABLE STRENGTH

PURPOSE: To manufacture a Pb alloy plate having stable strength and useful as an electrode for a storage battery, etc. without causing age softening by slowky cooling Pb alloy contg. a low-Ca from the solublizing treatment temp. at a specified cooling rate prior to rolling. CONSTITUTION: A Pb alloy is refined consisting of 0.02W0.1wt% Ca and the balance Pb with inevitable impurities or further, if necessary, contg. ≤0.7wt% Sn (an Sn/Ca% ratio is ≤7). This alloy is heat treated by slow cooling from the solublizing treatment temp. to ≤200°C at ≤200°C/min cooling rate, and it is rolled to manufacture a Pb alloy plate by the described rolling. By this method no age softening is caused, and the Pb alloy plate having stable strength over a long term is obtd. at a low cost.COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
