REDUCTION OF CARBON (C02) EMISSIONS

There is described a vehicle guidance system for a vehicle travelling from an origin to a destination with at least one intermediate waypoint, the guidance system providing instructions for guiding the vehicle from the origin, via the waypoint, to the destination along a route selected such that C02 emissions from the vehicle are minimised. At one or more waypoints along the route, payloads may be picked up by the vehicle or set down from the vehicle, varying its cargo payload. The guidance system may take account of the varying vehicle payload in selecting the order in which waypoints are visited, and the route taken between waypoints.
