SYSTEME DE COMMUNICATION DE RENSEIGNEMENTS METEOROLOGIQUES SUR LES LIEUX D'UN AEROPORT

ABSTRACT A system for automatically providing real-timeweather and other pertinent information about an airportto an aircraft. The system can operate continuously or thepilot can utilize his radio telephone equipment to activatethe information transmitter. Instantaneous weather informa-tion such as temperature, wind speed and direction and baro-metric pressure are supplied to a microcomputer which deter-mines the real-time values as an average over a predeterminedtime period. The microcomputer then responds to theactivating signal from the aircraft or operates continuouslyto selectively address the stored messages correspondingto the real-time information for transmission to the aircraft.
