SOLAR AIR DRYER WITH PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS IN DRYING TRAYS

A solar air drying system for drying perishable items, the said system uses solar energy to dry the air and the said dry air is used for drying perishable items, the said system is used during off sunshine hours with the help of phase change material used in the trays, the said trays work as thermal energy storage unit as well as trays for holding materials to be dried (perishable materials), the said system effectiveness is high because the latent heat released during phase change of energy storage material directly comes in contact with the said perishable items, the said heat is released at almost constant temperature, fins are attached internally and externally on the base of the said trays for enhancing the heat transfer rate.
