LATENT HEAT ACCUMULATOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE .- A latent heat accumulator includes an upright containerhaving, in a major volume first section, a latent heat storagemedium, and a passage for a heat exchange medium extendingthrough the charge in the first section. The passage is ofthe type of a conduit provided with intake openings at differentlevels. The flow of heat exchange medium through the conduitgenerates underpressure at the intake openings with the resultthat a part of the surrounding charge of the heat storagemedium is drawn into the conduit for a thorough intermixingand heat transfer. The intake openings are preferably pro-tected to avoid large solidified particles of the heat storagemedium from blocking the openings or from entering the conduit. The invention improves the heat transfer capacity, reduces thechange of the heat storage medium entering the associated heatexchange circulation system while retaining relatively simplestructure of the accumulator.
