PURPOSE:To miniaturize the titled device by a method wherein the latent heat of a phase convertible substance is utilized. CONSTITUTION:When solar energy is projected on a conduit tube 4, that is, a heat transmitting device 2, the device 2 is heated and the phase convertible substance 1 which is in solid phase is heated to an elevated temperature to be converted into liquid phase. In this case, if cool air in the room is brought into contact with the heat transmitting device 2, air is heated by the liquid phase convertible substance 1 and the resultant hot air is returned into the room. Further, when the temperature of the phase convertible substance drops down to its solidifying point, a large amount of latent heat is released to thereby increase the heating effect. Such latent heat is that which was accumulated at the time when the substance 1 was converted from solid into liquid phase by absorbing solar energy. Thus, when the phase convertible substance 1 expands, the air in an air chamber 7 escapes outside the chamber from an air port 8 and when it contracts, the open air enters the air chamber 7 through the air port 8 so that no inductive force generates in the heat transmitting device 2 due to the expansion and contraction of the phase convertible substance.
