Heat pad with heat storage medium

A heat pad comprises a heat storage medium 14, 16, and an electric heating element 10 associated with the heat storage medium 14, 16 such that, when energized, the electric heating element 10 heats the heat storage medium 14, 16. The heat storage material may comprise a phase change material and is arranged either side of the element.. A layer of insulation 17 may be present on one side of the assembly. The heat pad may be controlled in response to thermostats or element resistance and a controlled timed cycle may be additionally employed. A detachable connector 22a,22b connects the element to the power cable.
