The invention relates to a method for filling gas cylinders and an installation for filling gas cylinders, in which gas cylinders are cooled during filling by means of blown air cooled by thermal energy obtained from the phase transition of liquefied gas. The invention allows to reduce the cylinder filling time while ensuring that the temperatures of the filled cylinders are within safe limits.
