COLD HEAT-STORAGE MATERIAL

PURPOSE: To provide a cold heat-storage material capable of precisely corresponding to any desired temp., reusable, and causing no trouble such as leakage because of gel structure, by adding an excess of monovalent ions to an aq. polyacrylic acid soln. and thereafter a sol. Al salt thereto. CONSTITUTION: An excess of monovalent cations (e.g., Na+ derived from NaOH) is added to an aq. polyacrylic acid soln. and thereafter a sol. Al salt (e.g., AlCl3.6H2O) is added thereto to give the titled material. Said material causes the formation of polyacrylic acid crosslinked gel as well as alumina gel simultaneously and has characteristics of forming a freezing-point depressant, so that a synergistic effect between an org. polymer gel and inorg. gel may be expected.
