Energy is a driving force for social advancement. However, fuel energy consumption is at the expense of the environment sustainability for processes like cooling. According to the current researches, the problem of environmental pollution is becoming more and more dangerous. The use of clean energy can effectively save energy without producing environmental pollution. Phase change materials (PCM) can store energy through the phase change process which means that such materials can improve energy utilization efficiency without producing environmental pollution. The present work focused on the development of a suitable eutectic PCM for low temperature applications like building cooling with a phase change temperature of 20.86 ?C and a high latent heat of 156.99 J/g, based on organic fatty acids and investigation of its characterization, thermal properties and thermal and chemical stabilities through accelerated thermal cycle test.
